As stated in the official site of the UPOU Office of the University Registrar (OUR), "An EXT (Extended) mark is given to a student who fails to submit any one of the requirements of the course. Completion of EXT may entail submission of requirements, taking examinations, and other work that the faculty-in-charge (FIC) may require."
If you received a mark of EXT in any of your courses, you will need to apply for completion of the EXT within one year from when the EXT mark was incurred. In addition, it will help to take note of the following guidelines provided by the UPOU OUR:
1. The student must be currently enrolled or on residency in the term he/she is applying for completion. If the student is on absence without leave (AWOL), he/she must apply for readmission.
2. The application for completion of EXT is done through the Student Portal. Application period begins at the start of classes and ends a day after the deadline for filing of application for completion or removal (refer to the academic calendar for deadlines).
3. The approved application for completion is only valid during the term of application. Failure to comply with the lacking requirements during the applied term would require submission of another application for completion for the next term and schedule.
4. The student is given a maximum period of one year from the end of the term in which the EXT was incurred to complete all the course requirements; the student does not need to re-enroll in the course during this period.
5. The student has to re-enroll the course if the one year duration to complete the EXT has lapsed.
Applying for Completion:
1. Log in to the Student Portal and apply for completion. Once this has been approved, you may proceed with the submission of your completion requirements.
Submitting Completion Requirements via Email:
If you will submit your completion requirements to your FIC via email, be sure to attach your approved application for completion form. In your email, cc the FED mailer (fed@upou.edu.ph) and AA Program Chair mailer (aa-program-chair@upou.edu.ph).
Submitting Completion Requirements via MyPortal:
If you will submit your completion requirements to your FIC via the MyPortal course site, be sure to attach your approved application for completion form. Afterwards, you will need to send proof of your submission via email, with your approved application for completion form attached, to the FED mailer (fed@upou.edu.ph) and AA Program Chair mailer (aa-program-chair@upou.edu.ph).
