The Associate in Arts program of the UP Open University is the first undergraduate program offered by the UPOU when it was institutionalized in 1998.
The 2011 AA program comprises of 60 units of academic coursework with (8) units of Physical Education and (6) units of NSTP. The second revision in 2011 coincided with the Revised General Education Program (RGEP) of the whole UP System.
You follow the 2011 curriculum if you were admitted into the AA Program from 2011 to 2017.
The 2011 Curriculum is composed of:
15 units of Common Courses:
- Comp Ed 1
- Comp Ed 2
- Math 11
- Philo 173
- PI 100 (a course mandated by law)
15 units of Languages and Humanities, of which Comm 1 and Comm 2 are prescribed courses.
15 units of Social Sciences and Philosophy, of which His 1/Kas 1 and His 2/Kas 2 are prescribed courses.
15 units of Math, Science, and Technology, of which Math 1 and STS are prescribed courses.
as well as (14) units of Non-academic courses:
- PE 1, (2) units
- 3 PE 2 courses, (2) units each, for a total of (6) units
- National Service Training Program (NSTP), as mandated by Law, (6) units
